Description
Through my work at Baylor, I support youth and young adults with disabilities as they navigate the transition into adulthood. My program is called Flourishing Futures and we provide support in all areas of life including employment, lifelong learning, independence, and community engagement. Creativity and artistic expression are proven to benefit individuals with disabilities and mental health care needs in all areas of life. We partner with local organizations to promote inclusivity in the arts.

The Waco Committee for People with Disabilities is partnering with Art Center Waco to host the Disability in the Arts Exhibit. We will kick of the month-long exhibit featuring artists with disabilities with a celebration on July 18th! We are also conducting an “Open Call” for emerging or established artists that would like to have their work displayed in the exhibit. All disabilities and all types of art will be included. We will also have opportunities for performances during the celebration on the 18th of musicians, dancers, or poets with disabilities that would like to participate.
