Artist Statement
As a younger Latina artist and first-generation college student, my work is deeply rooted in
honoring culture, identity, and storytelling through bold visuals and accessible public art.
Growing up without access to many opportunities to create due to limited resources, I’ve come
to value art not just as a practice but as a vital outlet that brings me the most joy in my life. Now,
as I support myself through college, I continue to push forward in my artistic journey while
balancing my passion for environmental science. I believe that in both art and science, I am
contributing to making the world a better place from all angles. I strive to represent Hispanic and
women artists by pushing my work into public spaces where it can inspire, educate, and
connect. Each mural I create is a step toward amplifying underrepresented voices and
showcasing the beauty and power of our shared experiences. I do not create for the public’s
approval but rather to represent the public. While I work independently as a lead artist and
designer, I’m grateful to be surrounded by a strong support system of experienced muralists
who offer insight and mentorship. Their guidance helps elevate my work and ensures that each
project is carried out with care, creativity, and professionalism.
