Creative Waco is seeking Texas based artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for a new large scale artwork installation in the Waco Family Medicine Training and Conference Room.
This space is used by healthcare professionals to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the care they provide across the Heart of Texas. The selected artwork should elevate the room with a sense of inspiration, calm focus, and pride in the work of healing and service.
If invited into the paid RFP phase, finalists may be encouraged to propose work that reflects growth, learning, transformation, healing, strength, compassion, community, and the dignity and humanity of both patients and care providers.
The project welcomes a range of materials and approaches, including mixed media wall work, large scale canvases, mosaics, collages, and other innovative layered formats. Finalist proposals may include either a single cohesive artwork that creatively integrates architectural features such as doors and recessed wall elements, or a coordinated set of four large scale pieces designed to read together as one visual statement.
Artists may also consider the subtle inclusion of anonymized medical imagery, such as X-rays, clinical textures, data patterns, or medical printouts, as a conceptual layer that blends scientific language with human story in a visually compelling way.
Up to three finalists will be invited to participate in a paid concept proposal phase. Finalists will each receive a $1,000 honorarium to develop a concept design and present it virtually to the selection panel. The selected artist or artist team will receive a $10,000 final design and fabrication fee.
