Grease for the 21st Century! Mean Girls is what happens when Tina Fey takes the high school social order, puts it under a microscope, and then hands it a microphone. As part of our Summer School Season, this is a story about reinvention with killer songs and really good hair. It is about the strange, ridiculous, occasionally brutal world of trying to belong, and what it costs when fitting in starts to matter more than telling the truth. Cady Heron has spent her life far from the American teenage ecosystem. Then she lands in public high school and meets The Plastics, three girls who rule the building with the discipline of a political machine and the mercy of a shark.
